Hello!
My name's Millie and I'm a first year undergraduate student reading Philosophy at the University of Cambridge.
I've had lots of experience tutoring younger students at school, and am excited to begin tutoring online. I've also greatly benefited from receiving tutoring myself (going from the prediction of an E, to receiving an A in my French IGCSE), so I'm very patient and sympathetic - I understand how hard it can be and am well practised at breaking down arguments/ideas into to their simplest, most accessible forms.
Furthermore, as I meet weekly with a leading academic for my supervisions at Cambridge University (1-on-1 meetings where we discuss essays I've written and argue particular philosophical issues/ideas) I'm also well adept at pushing and challenging you, if that's what you desire!
I'm very flexible in terms of my tutoring approach, and will of course tailor everything to your needs and preferred style of learning. If you don't know exactly what that is yet, don't worry, we'll both work it out as we go along! However, if you do have a preferred style of learning (e.g. being questioned, asking question, being asked to explain things, having me explain things as simply as possible to you etc) then please just say! As I've already stated, I'm very happy to work in whatever way you find most beneficial.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions!
Whilst I've had no professional experience yet, I've worked extensively with younger pupils both at my old school and the local primary nearby.
In Year 10 I volunteered for an hour a week at my local primary school, aiding the children of a year 3 class one-on-one with their reading and numeracy skills, as well as acting as a classroom assistant for ICT and Geography lessons. Whilst originally only intending to volunteer for a term, I enjoyed working with the children so much that I continued for the entire year.
In sixth form I tutored younger students in RS, Drama and English. For the latter subjects I met sporadically with a variety of students, helping them with specific issues or essays. For RS however I was assigned a single GCSE student each year, whom I met with once or twice a week for 40 minutes
