Annabel is a professional and capable tutor who has many years experience working with children, teenagers and adults; she runs a full-time tuition business so is fully committed to education in all its forms. Highly motivated, creative and intuitive, she puts enjoyment at the heart of every lesson and believes everybody has the potential to improve and excel.
Professional experience
Benefitting from a History Degree, Teaching Assistant Diploma, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Advanced Certificate, Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma, Special Educational Needs Certificate, and Caring for People with Learning Disabilities Diploma, Annabel also has A-Levels in English, Psychology and Health & Social Care. She has a great deal of experience aiding those with learning disabilities and also uses Confidence Building Skills in all of her lessons.
Annabel effectively tailors every lesson to the individual and is able to utilise her skills in order to ensure every tutee is given tuition to suit their personal learning style. Annabel enjoys the challenge and subsequent rewards that come from working with a wide age-range.
Specific Tuition Details:
Psychology AS/A Level: All exam boards covered and all modules taught.
History AS/A Level: Annabel's specialist subjects include Germany 1918-1989, America 1917-1954, Ireland 1798-1990, Liberal Reforms, Victorian History & WWI 1834-1918, and Cold War 1918-1991. Help can also be provided on other topics so long as time is given for Annabel to carry out relevant research.
English GCSE/Adult Learner/EFL (English as a Foreign Language): All English Language exam boards covered; GCSE English Literature is not taught - this is also true for adult learners. Annabel provides specialist tuition for those who do not speak English as a first language, and those working towards IELTS.
Creative Writing for all ages: Annabel has published two books and enjoys aiding others who are interested in writing. Using fun activities, games and challenges, Annabel ensures all types of Creative Writing are explored.
Primary & Early Secondary up to age 15: Annabel tutors English, History, Psychology, Creative Writing, and Geography for those aged 7-11 years. All subjects are supplemented by quality online resources, slideshows and games.
