Tutoring approach
My approach to teaching is to encourage and inspire the student in order to make learning a rewarding experience for them. I find most pupils react better to praise than criticism and aim to highlight their strengths before focussing on weaknesses as a rule. This helps students to accept their flaws knowing they have strengths in other areas and gives them the room to grow.
Professional experience
I am a young graduate tutor in Mathematics, Physics, History and am enthusiastic, dedicated and sensitive to each student's learning process. I studied Architecture at the University of Edinburgh, graduating two years ago and am currently pursuing studying for a PGCE next year. I would be looking for part time work, ideally as many hours as possible as I am used to tutoring full-time.
I have a wide range of group-teaching experience working with the Youth Group at Westminster Chapel in a largely pastoral role and have extensive tuition experience with Minerva Tutors teaching a range of different age groups up to A -level. Here I taught a wide range of age groups from 7-18 years old and have gained the ability to appropriate tutoring material to the age and needs of the child. My most notable student was a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family only a few weeks ago which was a wonderful experience and a great period of growth as a teacher as it was a full-time (7 hours per day) role.
