Over the last year I have advised and offered guidance and support to undergraduate honours year students, as well as assisting in the writing of a new finance textbook.
I am very passionate about finance, economics, and business related subjects and will strive to get the very best out of my students.
I have my own transport and would therefore be willing to travel to the student's own house, or if it were more convenient somewhere in the City Centre or local area, such as a coffee shop or library. My objective is to study in-depth all of the learning objectives set by the student's school teacher, as well as working through past exam papers. In addition, I will supply the student with my own notes and aim to provide them with additional tasks over and above their school homework in order to enhance their understanding of the subject. Finally I will cover the command words set out by the SQA in order to help the student understand different approaches to answering questions.
I appreciate that each student has their own needs and methods of learning, and I will take this into account in my teaching approach. During my school and university studies, I have found that an interactive approach to learning helps the student enjoy the subject and generates the best results.
Professional experience
I am currently undertaking a Research Masters (MRes) in Finance at the University of Strathclyde. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Finance, and am winner of the University of Strathclyde's Journal of Economic Studies Prize 2012, and winner of Glasgow City Council's International Financial Services District Award 2013.
