I feel that a good tutor has a level of awareness that seeks to understand how each pupil learns most effectively and knowing this a good tutor should instinctually put in place methods and strategies that complement their way of learning.
Also, as a creative individual one of my key areas of focus is creative exploration, potential and process. I will continually challenge my students, pushing their creative limits in a manner that builds confidence and trust in their own intuition and development.
Though my current point of focus is Literacy based I have explored areas diverse as Architecture, Visual Arts and Musical Composition.
Finally I pride myself on continually understanding, developing and improving my own understanding of creativity to which I now wish to pass on to others.
Professional experience
Most recently I have worked with the regional Opera Company, Opera North. Within this role I was directly involved with the Arts education programme. I gained invaluable experience into Arts education that has greatly refined my approach to tutoring.
I have also explored techniques and methods towards Adult based learning as I find much affiliation with those whose circumstances, whatever they may be, have prevented earlier study. Through my studies with the Open University I have met and understood many such people and feel that I am appropriately placed to assist such individuals.
Finally I currently volunteer with the Beanstalk charity as a reading mentor for young children, helping develop certain children's ability to read.

You will meet your tutor in our online classroom, where you will see each other via video, hear each other and be able to upload documents and draw on a whiteboard.
