If the student wishes to learn for a reason (for example, to pass a test) then I will plan each lesson to focus on skills that will help them achieve that goal, as well as spending as much time on their weak areas.
In general, I like to teach for communication - I will teach you real phrases and vocabulary that will help you sound natural when faced with real language situations.
