Tutoring approach
Through my own learning I have found the approach of understanding the broad themes and concepts, followed by distilling the information down into manageable amounts is the best way forward. For GCSEs in particular, being familiar with the specification of the exam and attempting as many past papers as possible and learning from them is critically important. I would encourage an active approach to learning, past papers and question and answer sessions are great ways to consolidate your learning.
Professional experience
I have achieved 3 A* grades at A level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, with an A grade in AS History and have 10 A* grades at GCSE. I am currently on an undergraduate degree course.
During my time in secondary education, I volunteered at a mathematics support club for queries on content from Year 7 to GCSE and volunteered at my local junior school assisting in their learning of basic arithmetic and times tables.
