University of Nottingham, Mathematics (BSc)
Cost £15 per hour
Available to teach from anywhere
I'm Emily, an undergraduate student studying Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. I can provide tutoring in/around Nottingham during term time, but live in Bedfordshire outside of term time so can provide tutoring in/around Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire then. However, contact me with dates and I can let you know if I'll be available!
At GCSE, I earned 14 A*s (in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Additional Maths, Triple Biology, Triple Physics, Triple Chemistry, History, German, Physical Education, and Diploma in Digital Applications (4 distinctions, worth 4 A* GCSEs)) and 2 As (in Religious Education and Citizenship). In my first year of A levels I went on to gain a half GCSE in Japanese and earned a B.
I studied my A levels at Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge and in my first year earned 4 As, in Physics, Maths with Mechanics, Computing and German. In my second year I received an A* in Computing, A* in Maths with Mechanics, A* in Level 3 Extended Project and an A in Physics. For computing I was rewarded for being in the 50 top performing candidates in the country.
Outside of school qualifications, I earned a Level 1 Qualification in British Sign Language, I have achieved a Grade 5 Music Theory qualification with ABRSM, and completed my Grade 8 Piano examination with ABRSM by the age of 15.
I haven't provided paid tutoring before but have tutored friends and my younger brother (who is currently taking his GCSE exams) to help them get through their studies.
I don't have a particular teaching style; I have many different techniques and work with the student to identify which methods work best for them.
I also have a part-time weekend job at John Lewis in Cambridge to enhance my working skills and obviously to earn some pocket money.
I don't have a criminal record but am happy to allow CRB checks for reassurance!
I am friendly, punctual, approachable and patient and am working towards becoming a Mathematics teacher when I graduate from university, so tutoring would be an excellent way to help my progress, as well as it being rewarding to help a student excel in their learning.
If there's a subject you would like help with that I haven't listed, please just contact me to ask and depending on the level of tutoring required I will most likely be able to accommodate your needs. :)
Emily hasn't provided any written professional experience.
