Tutoring approach
I am a patient tutor who aims to understand the needs of every individual student. I am also dyslexic and therefore understand that some students may require a different approach in order to achieve their full potential. I am a friendly, understanding and approachable person and I want to instil that there are no stupid questions when I am tutoring.
I will be thoroughly prepared for all sessions by corresponding with the tutee before the session in order to understand what they want to achieve. I am happy to tailor the session to whatever the tutee requires. I also have lots of exam tips and advice that will be helpful. My ultimate goal is to make sure that my tutees understand what I am teaching them rather than just learn it because this approach will get you by at GCSE but not at A-level.
I achieved very good grades in my GCSEs and A-levels and I am now studying medicine at The University of Leeds. Therefore, I am familiar with the major UK exam boards, their specifications and what is required to be successful.
Professional experience
I have no paid experience but I took part in a tutoring scheme at my sixth form college. This involved me tutoring an AS student biology while I was an A2 student studying biology, chemistry and physics. I also tutored my brother, who is dyslexic, throughout his GCSEs
