Tutoring approach
Depending largely on the comfort level of the students with regards to the subject, I like to set them questions that I would like them to try first. It is highly likely that they may get some parts wrong but in this way I can encourage them to really think through it. After they do this, I can specifically target different problem areas and talk through it. After this I can set them some more questions and we can move on once they are fully confident in their ability for that particular part of the course.
Professional experience
I have tutored students at my secondary school last year as part of the gifted and talented programme. Other than that I have no professional qualifications. However, since I am a student myself, I can connect on better level with those I tutor and that means more transparent learning for the pupils concerned.
