Tutoring approach

My approach varies depending on student needs and capabilities, also whether my teaching is one on one or on group basis. However, I believe in Experiential Learning Technique and facilitation as it allows the student to really understand the subject and get to build his/her own confidence in articulating the subject in hand. Moreover, I always like to follow up with my students and make sure they are on track, hence I encourage their feedback after each session.

 

Professional experience

I am currently doing my MSc in Business Psychology, Heriot Watt University. I have graduated from The American University in Cairo with honors in Business Administration - Marketing - and minor Economics. My overall work experience is almost 12 years in various fields; marketing research, advertising, strategy, planning, training, coaching, facilitation, and breastfeeding counselling. It all started when I was an undergraduate student, I was working as a teaching assistant at my university and I was volunteering in an activity where we provided disadvantaged youth/orphans with the necessary education to help them complete their education and find jobs. After graduation I kicked off my career exploring corporate life for 6 years. Then I decided to focus on education through training, facilitation and coaching. Through out my tutoring years I was teaching different age brackets; be it youth, adults, or senior citizens; and I have enjoyed helping and supporting each and every single person. In a nut shell, my passion is mainly helping and seeing other people develop and grow to achieve their ultimate potential; which gives me great satisfaction. Finally, I do sessions either in English or Arabic or a mix of both.
