I am a very organised person with an enthusiastic approach to both learning and teaching. I am efficient and professional yet I am not too formal; I prefer a relaxed environment to ensure that my student is comfortable and does not feel too stressed or under pressure. I do not have a problem with going over the same thing repeatedly until my student completely understands - everybody struggles with different things!
Professional experience
I'm Jade - an LLB Law and English student at the University of Liverpool, which is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group. I have always been very passionate about English, which is reflected in the grades I have achieved throughout my academic career: I achieved top As in both English Language and English Literature at GCSE, even getting full marks in some of my exams. Indeed, I achieved an A Level English Literature and also an A in my Extended Project Qualification, which was essay based, entitled 'To what extent is the portrayal of Ophelia and her body in Hamlet representative of attitudes towards women at that time?'
I helped out in GCSE RE classes whilst studying for my A Levels, so for two hours a week I was sitting with students who were struggling with the subject and helping them to understand, and catch up with, the standard of work which was expected of them. Additionally, I volunteered at various local primary schools for two years, where I helped students one-on-one; this included teaching young children to write and read sufficiently. As I am so passionate about English and essay writing, I think that my enthusiasm helps me to motivate others.
