Tutoring approach
My tutoring approach is simplistic and direct, having sat numerous exams and submitted many essays, I believe that I know the key points for achieving the top marks.
It is no doubt essential to have a broad and thorough understanding, but there are certain elements which help you hit those top boundaries. Simple and straight to the point teaching is most effective, in my opinion.
Professional experience
Throughout school I always volunteered to teach pupils, this initially started with younger students in school, partaking in lunch time sessions run by myself and my peers. This continued into my A levels when I volunteered myself as a one-on-one tutor for GCSE students. Furthermore I took up an advisory position helping younger students with their subject options, which I did for two years whilst completing my A levels. In addition I have always taken a leading role in group projects at University, volunteering to be group leader on numerous occasions. On many occasions this has involved teaching my peers areas of the degree course.
My experience with younger people also extends beyond academic realms, I volunteered as a tennis coach as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, I continued for a further two years following its completion. My coaching abilities were also in Netball, which I did for three years in school.
