I have a professional and informal approach to supporting others' I work with on a one to one basis. I am an animated, enthusiastic tutor and i am passionate about adult education and learning. I provide one to one bespoke tutoring approaches to the clients learning objectives, and/or goals necessary to achieve in education and learning.
I currently operate as a freelance consultant and trainer in education and health. I work at the University of Plymouth supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students in a range of subjects to provide them with one to one specific learning support strategies. The strategies enable them to develop improved writing and comprehension of their academic writing and reading ability degree/post graduate degree course of study. I specialise in English language and support a diversity of dyslexic students, including ESOL. In addition I also deliver training courses across the South West of England in dementia, end of life, mental ill health, MCA/DoLS, professional boundaries, dementia with learning disabilities.
My background and expertise is in teaching and learning aged 14+, family learning, adult education and training in a range of nationally accredited programmes. During my work in community and adult education, I was also responsible for securing funding, quality assurance systems (this is a role where I have operated as a consultant since 2000); business planning and strategy, research [some of which has been published], education, mental health and learning difficulties and disabilities, physical disabilities, health and social care.
I worked as Funding Manager where I was responsible funding and commissioning SFA PQQ and ITT for educational accredited contracts including the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme funded by the European Funding programme for work placements from students from Poland, and France. This role involved managing and developing the education department and accredited courses to 14+ in a wide range of subjects across Plymouth and South West.
I am also a Director of my own arts based online business and have been involved in other businesses specially in education and sport.
