Tutoring approach
I like to let students lead the session. I start by identifying each individual's weaknesses and compiling a list of goals for the lesson. Throughout the session we then compile a mind map or list of points to deal with their issues. Towards exams we break down questions and create revision guides and tricks which are concise and easy to remember, always paying attention to the mark scheme and examiner's reports.
Professional experience
Since graduating last year I have been working as a freelance history documentary researcher and tutoring alongside. Prior to my degree I taught beginners piano, Maths and English throughout sixth form, and have now built up a range of experience with pupils of diverse ages and abilities. Recently I have tutored GCSE English and History extensively, as well as Maths and English to younger pupils.
