Professional experience

In addition to my academic credentials, I have gained relevant work experience over the past year, working as a Research Assistant; a Demonstrator; and Associate Lecturer at Northumbria University. The role of Research Assistant has given me direct experience of working in a research capacity in a University environment. The role required me to work independently as well as part of an extended team, recruiting and testing participants, and managing data and records; an experience that enabled me to further develop and employ outstanding people-facing administrative and organisational skills. My role as a Demonstrator on the first year Psychology undergraduate laboratory research module has developed my ability to teach a range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, the analysis and interpretation of data, and the writing of reports to accepted conventions. I have also been responsible for marking and giving feedback to students on their written and oral assignments. More recently, as an Associate Lecturer I have been responsible for the delivery and management of a 3rd year undergraduate Psychology option module – Sport & Exercise Psychology.
