Tutoring approach
I like having the student specify which parts of the syllabus they struggle with. After that I usually break that part of the syllabus down to its simplest form and concept to make sure the student understands the basics. I feel that that makes it easier for the student to build up more complex knowledge and to understand the more advanced parts of the syllabus.
Professional experience
I went to boarding school in Wales for three years where I took part in a tutoring programme for students studying at my school and the local state school. Being a German native speaker I gave tutor lessons for students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13, for both native speakers and students who learnt German as a foreign language. I also assisted in the languages department helping students who struggled with their homework and assignments for their German classes.
Also, having studies Geography from Year 7 to Year 13 I gave tutor lessons for Geography students, especially GCSE and AS students or IB students. Since I studied IB Geography I was able to help the IB Geography students with case studies that they needed for the syllabus.
After I finished Year 12 and moved on to Year 13 I also started helping out students who studies Economics or Biology, especially IB students as well as GCSE students.
