Relaxed, but focussed. Encourages pupil's own thinking, thereby developing new approaches to exam material. Core skills (punctuation, paragraphing, spelling, grammar, etc.) strengthened while more advanced stylistic traits (structuring for impact, word choice, avoidance of cliché, writing for purpose) fostered. Can give help with current curriculum work/homework/coursework/exam material etc., or can create a programme designed to complement curricular work and deepen engagement with English Literature.
Professional experience
University of Cambridge Undergraduate in English Literature. Trained at Team Up Cambridge to deliver outstanding English tutelage to less-privileged Year 9 children. Fully CRB checked. Designed and delivered intensive two hour weekly sessions at St Bede's school in Cambridge for a year.
