I have recently graduated from Birmingham City University having studied for a BAHons English Literature. From September I will be studying for a Masters in English Literature at the University of Birmingham. I have experience working with 11-18 year-olds as a youth worker at my church, and find it easy to get to know the needs of people quickly. During my third year of my undergraduate degree I worked for the university as a Student Academic Routeway Mentor. This involved planning workshops for English students, tailoring the subject matter to the needs and interests of those attending.
I currently work as an editor for www.personalstatementchecker.com. This is a business where prospective university students send us their draft personal statements and we edit them and offer detailed advice about how they can improve. The company so far has a 100 per cent success rate in getting students offers and interviews at university.
As part of the work I do with my church and with a summer camp for 10-14 year-olds I have recent DBS checks.
