I hold a BSc in Biological sciences minoring in Chemistry (Class of 2012) and currently finishing my MSc in Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. I am going on to do Medicine in Queen's Belfast as it is my goal to oversee the translation of efficient therapies taken from lab bench to bed side.
I teach a variety of things from grade school english all the way to college science. Non-academically, i teach Beginners Ballet and Grade 1 ballet most summers I'm back home. I have a background in piano, but I have never formally went through training as a piano teacher. Since I was 12, I have been figure skating competitively. I have competed around the world representing my schools/organizations. I no longer skate competitively, but can offer figure skating classes to those interested!
Throughout my college career I've always been a teaching assistant. After graduation I took a gap year and ended up teaching an undergraduate neuroscience lab while conducting research on the side. Recently, I was a science communicator with the Edinburgh International Science Festival where i worked with children 5-18 years of age, teaching them/letting them have a go at the different types of surgery.
I love teaching in different and dynamic ways. I believe that everyone has a type of learning style and not everyone is the same. As a result I like to get to know my tutees a little before starting. This is not to say that during the tutoring sessions I might try different things in order to help my students learn and understand better! I have had experience with special needs children, however that was only through assisting my mother (she specializes in special needs children education).
My rate is not set in stone, it depends on the number of students you have, length of time, age of student and the level of subject(s). If you'd like to know more about me, feel free to drop me an email.
