I maintain a friendly and informal approach so the students feel comfortable and able to get the most out of the session. I believe in frequent encouragement and praise as helps maintain and build confidence which helps calm nerves during the actual assessment.

Manchester Communications Academy – Student tutor
• I am a student tutor at the academy for GCSE Year 11 students, my role involves assisting the teacher in carrying out revision sessions and working on a one to one basis with students who need extra support.
• Identify and address student’s weak areas during revision exercises in a friendly and informal way.
• Establish a relationship with students and an environment where they feel comfortable addressing their flaws and asking for help.
• Ensuring students have all the support necessary to perform well in exams such as time management skills and how to approach questions.
• Conduct myself in a professional way whilst also as a role model for GCSE students wanting to go onto University.
