Tutoring approach
I take a very supportive and adaptable approach towards tutoring. Each student is different and I am able to alter my methods and resources to cater for individual learning needs.
I have worked with learners of all abilities including autistic children, adults with limited English and those with limited confidence in their academic ventures. I therefore take a flexible approach in which I strive to first understand the strengths, weaknesses and concerns of each student.
I have a calm, patient and professional approach towards tutoring. I am able to quickly identify barriers to learning and find practical ways of removing these barriers. I seek to be creative in my approach, to make tutoring sessions enjoyable and engaging.
Professional experience
I have a wealth of experience in teaching students of all age groups. I have undertaken this experience in mainstream schools, homework clubs and language centres. I previously provided tutoring services to primary and secondary students at a very established homework club. This experience involved supporting students with all aspects of literacy including spelling and grammar, report writing, creative writing and GCSE / A- level coursework. I also worked in mainstream schools on a supply basis as a teaching assistant.
In addition to working with young people, I also provided tutoring services to adult learners seeking to improve their English language skills. This experience took place in a classroom environment at a further education centre.
In addition to the tutoring services I have provided, I have undertaken recognised teacher training at postgraduate level, which allows me to teach primary students. I also hold a certificate which allows me to teach adults.

You will meet your tutor in our online classroom, where you will see each other via video, hear each other and be able to upload documents and draw on a whiteboard.
