I am currently studying BA Education Studies at the Institute of Education and will be in my second year this coming September, and I currently work as a Tutor in a centre in Shepherd's Bush. I teach children of mixed ability and although at the centre their work is predominantly computer based, I like to encourage a more one to one style of teaching which involves providing the child with a clear enough explanation of the subject or topic they are trying to understand, and also encourage them to explain to me their answers to help them reinforce their learning.
I also am an advocate for grammar and I have just completed training at my current workplace to help children to learn grammar as the National Curriculum for 2014 is now introducing grammar as a skill children need to learn. I also have some experience with 11+ entrance exam preparation. I have recently been CRB/DBS checked so I am up to date.
I have 10 GCSES grades A-C (B in mathematics, Science and English)
I will be relocating to London in the next coming months so I do not mind travelling.
