Tutoring approach

I have been teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) for almost three years now, during which time I have taught in different countries including Nicaragua, Costa Rica (where I lived for a year and a half), Brazil and in England as well. This means that I have experience with teaching lots of different nationalities and, because I am very interested in learning languages myself, have intermediate/advanced levels in Spanish and Portuguese respectively (I am currently doing an MA in Portuguese-English translation). I have helped speakers of many different languages to improve their English, but I also have a strong awareness, in particular, of the problems of translation and the repetitive errors that speakers of Spanish and Portuguese make. I have lots of resources which I have collected during my time at different schools (including interactive flipcharts/PowerPoint lessons, grammar activities), have a strong understanding of English grammar (I studied English Literature and when I started to teach and learn other languages this was something I worked hard to understand) I am easy to talk to, friendly, I teach fun and dynamic lessons and I care about my students and want to see them improve.
