Tutoring approach

Using his experience, Tom is liberal with his approach to teaching and can cater for students wanting to learn classical pieces on piano, as well as for someone who wants to learn how to use chords to write pop songs. The most important aspect is to cater towards the area in which the student is most passionate. As a vocalist, Tom has studied under the guidance of leading vocal and performance coaches, Dane Chalfin and Kim Chandler.

 

Professional experience

Tom Lee is a musician and singer-songwriter originally from Manchester, now based in Leeds. He was classically trained on piano, and graduated from Leeds College of Music with a degree in Popular Music (specialised as a songwriter) in 2014.
As a solo performer (Tea Leaf) and with his alternative rock band (Hora Douse) – he actively performs within the local DIY music communities and has performed with a variety of international acts: from the likes of Future of the Left, Drug Church and God Damn, to Alcoa (Derek from Defeater), The So So Glos and Nadine Carina.
