I engage with my students on a personal level, encouraging them to enjoy education and trying to link education to their hobbies and interests. I find the vast majority of students are able to learn once you can relate science to everyday life. It can be an overwhelming and hard subject but I feel getting back to the basics and thinking about the information in a more practical way rather than formal literature can truly help the understanding, and that the teaching process is enjoyable and personable.
I provide students with a mix of traditional teaching (i.e. learning from textbooks, homework tasks) as well as more relaxed teaching style.
