I understand that a lot of people can find science and maths daunting, especially if they do not have a solid knowledge foundation. My approach to tutoring is to first of all highlight problem areas/gaps in understanding and work towards enabling my student to be fully confident in that area to then be able to demonstrate that knowledge I.e in application to an exam question.
Professional experience
I am a 24 year old Biochemistry graduate and currently undertaking a MSc in Applied Biopharmaceuticals and Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham. My qualifications require me to have an in depth knowledge of the sciences particularly Biology and Chemistry and be very competent in Maths. I also have a lot of experience working in scientific industry which I have been lucky enough to be able to apply a lot of the knowledge gained from my education. This makes my tutoring style very unique as I can demonstrate the applications of the material learnt; creating a more dynamic learning experience from which my tutee can retain more information.
I have taught in schools in student associate schemes; a programme which offered students in higher education an opportunity to explore teaching as a career. It is here where I gained my most relevant teaching experience whilst being able to raise pupils aspirations in education. I am also a STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) volunteer creating opportunities to inspire young people in STEM subjects.

You will meet your tutor in our online classroom, where you will see each other via video, hear each other and be able to upload documents and draw on a whiteboard.
