Tutoring approach

I am a firm believer in a tailored and planned approach to every student. Each student has individual needs which have to be fully understood before a plan of action can be formulated. I build a plan with my students and we work together to ensure progress through it. Regular reflection is also an important aspect of my teaching approach which helps the student realise where they need to focus.

 

Professional experience

I am a final year medical student at King’s College London aspiring to embark on an academic medicine career. I am particularly interested in education and whilst at university, I have been involved in various extracurricular activities including organising fundraising, academic support and community events.

I have taught a diverse audience of students, from teaching at a volunteer run homework club for inner city children with refugee status to tutoring middle aged professionals preparing for medical school entrance examinations. This range of audience has led me to acquire some of the most important communication skills required to become an excellent tutor. I have been tutoring secondary school pupils for over 5 years now and I feel as a secondary student of the recent past myself I can pass on the techniques and methods that I know work to excel in today's system.
